Welcome to a new year. As the new President of WSCA, I welcome all of you back to what I hope will be a new school year filled with promise, accomplishment and great achievements for both you and your students.
This past year I have seen many across Long Island tap into each other as resources. Opportunities to discover inequities. The need to advocate for students with a lack of technology resources, COVID-19 relief and social emotional support.
As we start this new year, I am excited for the possibilities to reconnect to continuously learn from one another and build the 2021-2022 school year. The WSCA Executive Board and its council members are planning professional development to support one another and address topics of interest.
I believe this is the year we can dream of whatever we desire and implement it with creativity and collaboration. We can be courageous, resilient, connected, and foster our own growth mindset to find success and develop the school counseling program that our students deserve.
I am humbled to work alongside an amazing group of professionals in school counseling, mental health and higher education fields.
